No Man’s Sky will be ported on iPad and Mac this year

Publisher Hello Games will port No Man’s Sky to some of the Apple's devices.

No Man’s Sky was once a game of the year, then it became a disaster of the year. A sandbox game where you travel between planets with one goal — uncover the mysteries behind the center of the Universe. After a long period of silence, Hello Games polished the project, and now it's considered a well-done game. Even Tim Cook is interested in it.

No Man’s Sky will be ported this year on iPad and Mac. But don't get too excited — the game will use a new API called Metal 3. It makes the game run smoothly like the Nvidia DLSS does. However, for that API to work, you need an M1 cheap or even better — the newly announced M2 cheap.

If your device happens to run No Man’s Sky, you might get a quick loading time, like on PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X|S. This game and Resident Evil: Village are the first games that will use Metal 3 technology. If other devs will follow, we should expect more heavyweight projects on mobile devices. Well, excluding the iPhones until they get that new vacuum chamber cooling in it.
